Hellenic Petroleum Renewable Energy Sources S.A. (ELPE Renewables) has been established in 2006 and is 100% owned by Hellenic Petroleum S.A.
Under the scope of the company it is the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of energy products that will come from the exploitation of renewable energy sources, the activity of representing producers of electricity from renewable energy sources in the electricity market (in the production of electricity from renewable energy sources is included and stored using batteries or other means of energy storage) as well as the design, marketing of equipment, construction and installation of renewable energy systems (wind, photovoltaic, biomass, hybrid, etc.) with or without energy storage.
ELPE RES has set the target of the development of a significant portfolio of renewable sources (RES) with an installed capacity of 300 MW by 2021 and 600 MW by 2024, through the development of projects in the Group’s real estate and abroad, but also through acquisitions, to contribute to its balance greenhouse gas emission balance with a reduction of the carbon footprint of the HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group by at least 250,000 tons per year.
ELPE Renewables has in its porftolio that includes its subsidiaries, PV Stations in operation of a total capacity of 19MW and a wind farm in operation of 6.8MW. The portfolio of projects under development (photovoltaic and wind) amounts to about 900MW and also includes a power plant from a biomass power plant with a capacity of 4.68MW.
Additionally , ELPE Renewables licenses in cooperation with LARCO S.A. a portfolio of photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 43,9 MW.
In February 2020, the acquisition of a 204.23 MW Photovoltaic Power Station in Kozani was signed, which is expected to be set in operation in December 2021.
